1.
My Cute Little Rhyme Games
teach:

- consonants,
- short vowels,
- rhyming,
- decoding and blending.
2. My Sight Word Pattern Books teach:

- consonants and short vowels,
- progressively more difficult sight word vocabulary,
- oral reading and decoding
practice,
- reading skills into context,
- practice printing, using capitals and correct punctuation.
Formats used:
1. My Cute Little Rhyme
Games match up pairs of rhyming words. The words are presented on two different cartoons. As the student pairs
up the words, the pictures pair up also. This multi-sensory approach to learning new words helps reinforce the
sounds.
2. My Sight Word Pattern
Books are booklets that the teacher photocopies for the student. The
phonograms at the top and the sight words below are patterned in sentences. The repetition helps the student learn
both their sounds and the new sight word vocabulary. They practice oral reading with the words in
context.
